Which class has impacted you the most?

During the church planting course I was able to take a class called “Inductive Bible Study” with the students. God blessed me through this class. My teacher did an excellent job of explaining everything clearly and helping me learn this way of studying the bible. The class also taught me how to lead a bible study, and that is something I have always wanted to do but did not know how. I still use things that I learned from that class and I am so grateful that I got the opportunity to take the “Inductive Bible Study” class.

How do you think this internship has better equipped you for the future?

This internship has equipped me and opened doors for me in the future. I have become so much more responsible and have become more servant minded.  I have learned to care for others needs before my own. Soon I will be going back home and am super excited to apply everything I have learned here such as serving in my home and serving more in my church.

Which class has impacted you the most?

The Missiology, 2 Corinthians, and Biblical Self-Confrontation classes that we took and have been taking have really impacted me and changed my perspective. I bring up all three because I think that they were all equal contributors to my growth. In the Missiology class we were given an in depth understanding of the history of missions, the controversy around missions, the great need for missions workers, and missions strategy. In 2 Corinthians class we studied the book thoroughly with specific application to our lives; we talked about the importance of sharing the gospel accurately and fully, not skimping or compromising it. Biblical Self Confrontation has been awesome because it has really helped to put straight any discrepancies between my understanding and Biblical understanding. It’s also fed my passion and the calling that God has given me to biblically counsel others. This class is helping me to become more competent to counsel.

“I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another.” (Romans 15:14)

How do you think this internship has better equipped you for the future?

The internship has equipped me for ministry in so many ways. God has revealed to me so much about where He wants me in my time as an intern… and the internship has helped push me towards that. God has used this time to mold me into who he wants me to be while teaching me how my specific skills are applicable to ministry.

Which class has impacted you the most?

For me the class that has impacted me the most has to be our vision class; where we learn how to properly cast the vision God has given us for ministry and our lives. The reason why this class has impacted me on a deep level is because God has given me a heart for church planting. In order to reach that call I need to do constant self-examination and I have to be able to discern between the mission and vision of the ministry.

How do you think this internship has better equipped you for the future?

While I’ve been here God has used this internship to grow me in both my walk with the Lord and in my own maturity. The goal is as Ephesians 4:12 puts itto equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”  I have been better equipped as a leader to cast vision, lead with humility, to serve joyfully and to be the man God has called me to be. Looking back it’s obvious I’m not the same person I was six months ago. God has used my mistakes and shortcomings as a great way to edify and grow me!

Which class has impacted you the most?

Each of the classes we have taken have grown me in several ways. However, back in October, we took a class called Inductive Bible Study and it changed the way I read the Bible. It has pushed me to read further into God’s Word and gain further understanding. It can be easy to “skim” read the Bible, but this course taught me to ask questions, and learn the answers.

How do you think this internship has better equipped you for the future?

Throughout the internship God has been transforming me continuously into the person He wants me to be. God has used the internship to place a call on my life and refocus my heart on Him. Ministry wise, I have learned and developed skills in communication that are useful towards any ministry opportunity in the future. Looking back to the person I was when I first began the internship in September, I can see clearly the work God has done in me and why He called me here to serve in La Gloria. I know that God continues to prepare me for the great work He has ahead, and I am certain that He will use what I have learned in La Gloria to fulfill the purpose that He has for me.
