This Fall Season, we have four interns from Calvary Chapel Lone Mountain and Calvary Chapel Las Vegas serving here at CTC. They’ve been given different responsibilities here at the base and will be serving alongside short-term teams. Here’s how they were called and what they want to gain from this internship.

Bonnie Knight, 24

How did God call you to intern at CTC?

About 3 years ago I came to here on my first mission trip and left realizing there’s nothing in this world that I’d rather do than shine His light and His love. It ignited a passion to serve and help the lost. After fervent prayer, the Lord finally opened the doors.

What do you want to gain from this internship?

I want to develop a heart like our Savior Jesus and to know how to serve like He served.

How did God call you to intern at CTC?

My first mission trip to Mexico was in October of 2016. After that mission trip, God had been stirring my heart for Mexico and had no idea with what that meant. My worship Pastor’s wife, Nikki suggested I apply for this internship. My only hindrance was supporting my family financially. As I kept praying through this process, my brother eventually recommended I stop supporting the family; in addition, he was promoted. That was able to cover what my obligation was to my family, financially.

What do you want to gain from this internship?

Hoping to be a nurse one day, I am really anticipating and praying to utilize what I learned from the different classes I will have taken. With different dreams and visions I have for the medical ministry (Hope Medical Missions – CCLV) I am a part of, I am praying for sensitivity to the culture and different efficient ways to serve others. I am excited to embark and learn more about who I am in the Lord and how I could further His kingdom.

Arielle Steimer, 20

How did God call you to intern at CTC?

Last year I participated in a missions based discipleship program, known as YouthCall. During our time in Mexico, I felt the Lord pressing upon my heart to return to Mexico for a longer period and start the process for the internship.

What do you want to gain from this internship?

I have an earnest desire for missions, whether it be full-time missions work on the field or short-term trips. As such, I want to gain knowledge of what the missions life entitles and understanding in presenting the gospel with regard to culture.

Janelle Moore, 18

How did God call you to intern at CTC?

Since my freshman year of high school, I have felt God placing a desire on my heart to live my life as a full time missionary. I was blessed with multiple opportunities to visit the Calvary Training Center on short-term trips throughout high school. As I recently graduated, I prayed for God to reveal a place where I could further my knowledge on what life would be like as a missionary. Knowing about the internship program at CTC, I prayed for God’s hand to open the doors and that I would simply step out in faith for God to meet all my needs.

What do you want to gain from this internship?

I hope to further my knowledge in missions work, so I would be able to pursue my calling as a missionary. Also, dedicating my time growing closer to the Lord throughout my stay here. I am praying God would use me as His vessel for the furthering of His kingdom in the duration of my time here.
