What is a ministry area at CTC that you most like serving in? Why do you like serving there and how has God used you for that ministry?

I love to serve in every area here at the base. Something I really enjoy is going out with teams that come down to serve the Lord. I love helping them out and seeing what God is doing through them. I also get to meet a lot of awesome people from different places with the same mindset and goal as mine, to know Jesus and make Him know.

Throughout any challenges you have faced while serving, how has God enabled you to overcome them?

Recently, A few challenges have come my way. Without God I would of been so broken and hurt. He has showed me through these trials to completely trust Him and keep Him #1 in my heart. He has helped me overcome these things by showing me His love through everyone here. He has given me amazing leaders who help me and pray for me.

It has been such a blessing to serve alongside the short term missions teams that join us. I love new people and I’ve been able to establish lasting friendships with so many people from all over. It’s incredible to witness the bond that we all have as believers so tangibly. As brothers and sisters in Christ we are able to have an immediate common ground and encourage one another. God has given me the ability to build relationships quickly, lead and encourage those who come while serving alongside them. It is such a blessing to take part in this component of CTC’s ministry; to be able to see people leaving inspired and shining the light of Jesus. I’m also really enjoying learning about how my art skills can be used for ministry. Coming here I didn’t know how that particular passion of mine would play into ministry. However, communication is a big part of ministry that both art and design play a large role in as well.

Throughout any challenges you have faced while serving, how has God enabled you to overcome them?

In any challenges that I’ve faced here, God has had the same answer for me: to trust that He has marked the way for me and that I must come under that. When I come to Him with a problem I’ve been having it’s usually a very humbling moment because God will remind me that my first duty is to Him and asking Him for the solution first, and not as a last resort. When I am frustrated and hitting a wall (figuratively) I usually go back to God’s promises. God reminds me of what He has shown me, what is in store for me and that He is always good. This gives me peace when I’m up against a challenge.

What is a ministry area at CTC that you most like serving in? Why do you like serving there and how has God used you for that ministry?

There is not a specific area of ministry that I serve in, I serve wherever it’s needed. I love serving God in anyway and anywhere He lets me. Whether it be leading teams, translating, working on special projects, outdoor maintenance, hospitality, or even cleaning toilets I am here to pour my life out for the Kingdom.

“Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.” (Habakkuk 3:17-19)

When times get tough and I feel inadequate, God always comforts me with the promise of His word. He redirects my eyes away from myself and onto Him, He who is the source of all my joy and embraces me with His gracious love.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

What is a ministry area at CTC that you most like serving in? Why do you like serving there and how has God used you for that ministry?

Every Tuesday we go to the rehab center here in Tijuana, where we minister to the girls there. The center also doubles as a sort of detention center. I really have enjoyed leading the girls in worship, getting to know them, and sharing the truth of God’s unconditional love for them. I love being able to teach them about God’s grace, compassion, wisdom, and Father heart for them.

Throughout any challenges you have faced while serving, how has God enabled you to overcome them?

A very challenging situation I’ve had is leading worship, without being prepared. I’ve been in so many situations where someone asks me to lead worship, but I don’t have chord sheets, or haven’t practiced. God opened my eyes and showed me that I was relying more on my own preparation than God’s grace and guidance to lead worship. He reminded me that people aren’t touched by my talent or performance, but rather by His ministry in their hearts through worship.

True worship doesn’t revolve around music. It consists of a life given to obedience, service, and love towards the King of Kings. Our worship should flow from the communion and conversation we have with the Lord throughout the week. Now, if God gives me an opportunity to lead worship, I try to say ‘Yes’, and ask for the Holy Spirit to touch people.

What is a ministry area at CTC that you most like serving in? Why do you like serving there and how has God used you for that ministry?

I enjoy serving in the communications area of ministry because I am able to write, something that I love. God has used me to keep everyone updated on the ministry here at CTC and God’s great work here in La Gloria. I really enjoy expressing how God is on the move in Tijuana and making known His awesome Truth.

As in the midst of any season, struggles and difficulties are expected. Whenever I come across these times, God reminds me to come to Him on my knees in prayer. He tells me to lift up my worries to Him, and to praise Him for all the good things in my life He has blessed me with.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
