The month of July came and went so quickly here at CTC La Gloria. As we enter the month of August we are excited for what’s in store. Below you can read all about what the Lord has been doing down here!
July started off with our Welcome Dinner for our Church Plant International (CPI) course. Our students are now in week five and have only three weeks left. It’s been incredible to see them working diligently over this past month. For them, the month had definitely come with many challenges, like finding time to finish homework and prepare Bible studies. The days in class have been long but definitely rewarding. We know that once these students graduate they’ll be equipped to plant a church.
Many of these students have callings to not only plant churches, but also rehab centers and orphanages. We ask that as this course comes to an end that you keep the students in prayer, pray that they remember all they’ve learned and that they continue growing with God and being obedient to Him.
Throughout the month we’ve also had many short-term missionary teams come and serve. We’ve had teams from as far as Idaho come out! It’s amazing to see so many people with a passion to come serve God’s people in Mexico. Some of our outreaches consisted of children’s ministry, visiting an all men’s convalescent home and lots of soccer.
We are so thankful for all the teams that invest their time in serving here in Mexico. Short-term missions trips play such a vital role here at Calvary Training Center and we would love for you to be a part of spreading the good news. If you’re interested in bringing a team down to serve please email us at email@example.com.
Our interns have been hard at work both serving with teams and taking some of our CPI courses. Aside from that they’ve been getting a better idea of what being a missionary really is. Be on the lookout for a post from them soon!
As you may recall from our last newsletter, our afterschool program ended in June. As the school year approaches we will be starting the program up again, on September 11. We are so thankful that the Lord has been faithful in providing for this program. Last year we began a sponsorship program, and are grateful for those generous people who contributed to the program.
As you prepare to complete back-to-school shopping for your kids we ask that you pray about sponsoring our Kids of the King program, we know that God has such great plans for this program. We are currently accepting sponsorships for just $20 a month. Twenty dollars helps cover the cost of providing hot meals to students three times a week, help with homework, biblical mentorship, facility fees and classroom supplies. Donations can also be made through our Amazon wish list.
Currently we are seeking a director for the program. First and foremost we are looking for someone who loves the Lord and children of course. As a director we ask that you are bilingual (English and Spanish), your role will be to create lesson plans for the year and help create a budget as well. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if this interests you.
We cannot emphasize enough how blessed we are to be able to serve God with the help of brothers and sisters like you all. Running such a large facility means that there is a lot of maintenance to be done. Safety is always a concern for us and in order to continue serving the community efficiently there is some work to be done here at the base. We are in need of new perimeter walls, flooring, remodeling of classrooms and dorms, landscaping remodeling and so much more. If you’re interested in bringing a team down to complete a special project on base or to donate materials to complete these projects please contact us.
We know that our God is a God of provision and He’ll provide all we need in His timing. Our biggest request it that you continue to keep us in your prayers.
